A language disappears every two weeks. Traditional knowledge and cultures are fading fast in the face of the modernization, globalization and homogenization. And the planet’s wildlife and wilderness are under enormous duress. So what can we do about it? The Cultural Sanctuaries Foundation has a unique approach – to help protect both endangered culture and languages AND to protect biodiversity. In this presentation, co-founders Chris Rainier, a highly respected photographer and National Geographic explorer, and his partner Olivia McKendrick, a former corporate lawyer, will discuss the Foundation’s mission and approach.
